About us
Macks Fitness Ltd was created back in 2009 but its beginnings were much earlier.
My name is Andy McNeil and I am the creator and Director of Macks Fitness. I have always had an interest in sport and fitness, going back to playing Yorkshire league level squash in my teens to taking part in the Great North run on multiple occasions.
Ironically it was an injury that first led me to resume my interest in fitness and exercise. I was doing a pretty sedentary job at the time, and got a scoliosis of the spine, also known as a bulging disc.
This in turn led to a period of rehabilitation using core strengthening exercises that a physiotherapist advised and a love affair with the now widely acclaimed Joseph Pilates art of Contrology (now known as Pilates) was born.
I then re-trained as a level 2 Gym instructor, adding circuit training, nutrition and then my level 3 Personal trainer, level 3 Pilates teacher onto that. I also have an advanced gym instructor qualification, Boxercise, Kickboxercise and Boxercise for kids.
I have always believed that looking after one’s physical health is of up-most importance. Not only for the bodily reasons but also the mental and social ones.
At Macks Fitness we have fun when we train.
Whether it be a circuit class outdoors or an Indoor beginners Pilates class, the aim is to get fit and healthy, strong and supple but also enjoy doing it! We believe that exercise is a social occasion, but that hard work goes hand in hand with it!
Macks Fitness currently trains over 150 people a week, through Personal training, corporate classes and private classes.
We are currently one of the biggest Corporate Wellness providers in Hampshire, with more companies joining all the time!

I have just completed my personal training level 3 qualification.
I am a current British weightlifting level 1 coach where I volunteer at Lakeside weightlifting and British Gymnastics level 2 coach which I teach pre-school and recreational gymnastics at Places for People Eastleigh.
Whilst growing up I was 6th in the country for Sports Aerobics and loved training in Gymnastics.
I am also a keen snowboarder and runner, recently completed the Romsey 5 mile at Broadlands and am very keen to enter a few more events this year.
As you can see I love fitness of any kind.
